In jungle of North-East, there lived a mother rhinoceros Pinki with her kid Tinku. Pinki was one horned rhinoceros. She was full of pride of her one horn and never missed an opportunity to insult and demean other creatures in the jungle.
In that
jungle a pack of jackals was also living. All animals used to drink water on
the same lake of the jungle. Jackals have to pass the feeding area of rhinos to
drink water. Pinki insulted jackals every day when they were passing through
the feeding area of rhinos. Pinki was encouraging her kid Tinku to tease other
animals passing. Zintu was the captain of the jackal pack. He always advised to
pack members to ignore Pinki and Tinku.
The value
of rhino’s horn was of huge amount and it was in demand. So some hunters came
to the jungle to trap rhinoceros. They were having tranquilising darts. They
used it to tranquilise Pinki by shooting them in her neck and leg. Pinki sensed
the danger so she warned Tinku to run away as fast as possible. So he ran away
and Pinki fall down on the ground.
The hunters
were waiting for this moment only. They immediately approached unconscious
Pinki and with a sharp Katana sword cut off the horn from Pinki’s body. After
securing the horn, all hunters left the spot. Pinki was bleeding. But there was
no one to care her.
Next
morning, Pinki woke up with great pain. She was crying in pain and sorrow of
losing her horn. Zintu and other jackals were as usual on their way of hunting.
Zintu smelled blood and followed it. He reached near Pinki. Pinki was crying.
Zintu asked, “What happened to you? And where is Tinku?”
Kind words
of Zintu made her to cry more as she used to insult them every-time. With great
effort and heavy heart Pinki said, “Oh Zintu, I always mocked you for
satisfaction of my ego. But you cared for me and Tinku. I am sorry for my
misbehaviour.” And she told the jackals about the horrifying incidence of last
night.
“We will
find Tinku and bring back to you.” Zintu assured Pinki and all jackals left in
the direction pointed by her. With their howls Zintu and other jackals were
communicating to other packs. And after few hours they successfully located
Tinku. Tinku was with Pinki by evening and they thanked jackals for their help.
Tinku also apologised jackals for his misbehaviour in past.
Morals
of the story:
Always
ignore mocking behaviour of others and be happy with what you are having.
Things that
we pride ourselves on can be gone in a moment.
Offer help
unconditionally. Helping others always brings peace to the heart.
Be good to
all as you never know who will be coming to your aid in an emergency.
Don’t shy
to say sorry for your misbehaviour.
